To give Twitter a tough competition, Facebook has launched a new subscription button which will act alike the Twitter’s follow button. It can be accessible for
● opting what you see from people in News Feed
● Hear from people, even if you’re not friends
● Let people hear you, even if you’re not their friends

This is how Facebook illustrates the new service..

Choose What You See in News Feed
all posts from your friends will be available in the news feed. With this subscribe button you can now select how much you want to see from them.
● All updates: Everything your friend posts
● Most updates: The quantity you would normally notice
● Important updates only: Just highlights, like a new job or move

You all will get a chance to choose what type of updates you want to see. For instance you can see just photos from one friend, no stories about games from another, and nothing at all from someone else. What you choose to see is optional. You can also ignore the button if you don’t want to modify anything or what you see from someone.

Get Your Own Subscribers
you can also get a Subscribe button on your profile if would like to share your updates with public, not just your friends. Those who subscribe to you will get posts, which you locate as “Public” in their News Feeds. This feature is entirely optional, you must opt it.

Go to the Subscriptions Page and click Allow Subscribers, if you want to allow people subscribe. Once you have permitted the subscribers you can now select people who can comment and the notifications you receive. A subscription tab is also visible on your profile where you can see who can subscribe you.
