Written by William Noah. Posted in Web, Windows Phone 7

WP7.5

I guess the wait is finally over and Mango update has been thrown out in the wilds now. For all those who have been anxiously waiting for this update which is likely to bring hundreds of new features to your platform, you guys have to wait for few days more, probably for a week or something. You can’t deny the fact that the community of Windows Phone 7 is spacious and some people assume that this is the main reason that Microsoft will still take about a month to launch its Mango update on all WP powered devices. If you’ve already been notified with this update then consider yourself lucky because this thing is out of our hands right now. There are always two ways of doing something in the world of technology; either wait for anything to come up officially or go deep down in the system and get what you want by gimmicks. You can also force update to Mango from Nodo using some tricks which will be elaborated further more down below. If you’ve been unsuccessful with this method already then you might want to try it again but this time with maximum attention.

Some people hate waiting and if you’re one of those people then there’s a way to skip the whole queue and get Mango right now. The method is very simplified and it has no harm. Although, no one has come up with a reason that why this gimmick works. All we know is that, this is the only possible way out to get Mango update before it is presented to you via your WP devices.

Disclaimer: Please before starting with this Mango update guide be informed that you’re doing it all on your risk. We will not be responsible if any valuable information is lost or your phone gets corrupted during the process.

Prerequisites:

1 – Zune client should be up to date.

2 – 50% battery should be present in your cell phone at the time of following up this guide.

3 – Please be informed that even though the process is very easy, it will still take a lot of time.

So be ready to get going with your phone for about an hour or so as bunch of updates will be required to get Mango. In most of the part of this process, your phone will remain on download mode, so you’re ought to be having a strong Internet connection.”

Guide:

1 – First up, connect your Windows Phone device with your personal computer. This would automatically launch Zune.

2 – Once you see Zune starts to run on your PC, make your way to its Settings menu which should probably be next to the close button and then from this menu on the left, you have to choose ‘Update’. If your app is indicating that an update is already available for your device then congratulations because you’re one of those few people who are getting the Mango update this early. However, if it is not there then you may want to go on with this guide.

3 – To get the desire update in Zune you will have to inactive your computer’s internet connection. Now you may want to click on any other option from the side bar except for the update.

4 – Now, get ready for whichever way you’ve chosen to inactive your connection (At this stage of the guide, I’d reckon to turn-off your Wi-fi)

5 – Now disconnect the Internet connection as soon as you make your way back to the Update menu. You have to do it as quickly as possible otherwise you’ll screw up the whole scene. If you’ve performed it with right timings then Zune might get you an update notification after a minute or something. This ‘update’ button will be seen activated in the Update menu.

6 – If there’s no such thing happening, please do not get panic. We didn’t get it right in the first time either. Keep repeating this guide until step 5 and you will get the notification for sure.

7 – When you ultimately get the update notification, get going with it. Zune will assist you big time and provide you with step-by-step guide.

8 – Now, once you’ve received the update, go back to Zune to get other required updates. It should pop up in a minute of time, but if it does not happen with your device, you can repeat the STEP 5 again.

9 – After you’re done installing the second update, a third and the last update will come your way. Let Zune handle it and let it finish the update installation as well.

10 – When you’re done with Step 9, go to your ‘Phone Settings’ now the operating system of your device would be ’7702′ which is obviously the Mango update.

Please Stop:

Mostly users are encountered with problems using this procedure as you have performed every step with exact timings to push the update to your device. Some users are unable to work it out and their ‘Zune’ message keeps on switching between ‘Phone is Up to Date’ this is because your computer’s internet connection is on. Here are few things that you can easily perform, if step 5 does not work out well for you.

1 – Use another PC to apply the method.

2 – Reboot both your computer and your device.

3 – If it still doesn’t work, do this: Enable the internet connection of your PC. Make sure this time ‘Zune’ checks for all the required updates. Now click on the Update option and while your software is busy grabbing all the updates, turn off your PC’s internet connection and just at the same moment turn on your WP’s Wi-Fi. Doing this will get you an update on Samsung Omnia 7 and HTC HD7.

So I guess this has pretty much solved the mystery of how Zune could extract the latest update of Windows Phone which is Mango.
