You could simply just turn off your phone since you’ve pretty much turned off everything that’s useful.

if the above is truly the solution than the 4S is a shame of a product.

another way to guarantee battery life is to turn off the phone, the battery is guaranteed to last for a few weeks between recharges.

Great tips! But you missed a couple of very important ones that would naturally follow the ones you mentioned. Like sell your iPhone (it’s worth a lot of money) and go get a cheap phone, since there’s no point having an iPhone once you’ve turned off all the services that make it an iPhone.

A much better approach would be to go through all those location services and individually switch off the ones you don’t need. For example, do you really need to have the coordinates for each picture you take? If not, turn off Location Services for your Camera app. If you’re an Evernote user, do you need the coordinates for each note you create? I sure don’t, and have turned that off. You can selectively decide what apps need location services and which don’t. I have them on for Google Maps and Yelp, because I often use those services and they truly need locations services to function.

As to shutting off WiFi, that’s tantamount to cutting the iPhones usability in half. Pretty extreme. I’ve only done that on days when my battery is already getting low, I needed a few more hours that I had left, couldn’t get on a charger, and wanted to extend the life of the battery that day.

I’m getting 15 – 16 hours out of my iPhone with moderate use by picking and choosing what services to keep and which to shut off. Most days, this works fine and I put my phone on the charger that night. If I listen to a lot of music one day, or use the phone extra heavily, I’ll need to recharge before the day is over. I can live with that.

By using some judgement, you can extend your batteries’ life and still have a “smart” phone, which is why you bought an iPhone in the first place.

I agree that all of these ideas will increase your battery life. However like one poster above said I just selectively shut these things off to conserve the battery. Because shutting them all off would turn my iPhone into an expensive dumb phone instead of a smartphone.
