Siri Can Now Be Ported To Android, Mac, iPhone 4, iPad 2

If you adore Siri and don’t have an iPhone 4S then just be happy because Siri can work on your device as well. Yes you read it truly. Siri can be run on devices other than iPhone 4S. So how are you feeling after reading that? You must be wondering how this is possible. So let us inform you that a French Engineering Firm, Applidium has unwraped how Siri works actually and has managed to crack its security protocol that has made Siri exclusive for iPhone 4S and has restricted its accessibility to other devices.

With this crack, the personal assistant app can work on any iOS and non-iOS devices. This means you can avail this speak recognition technology to your Android devices, Mac, Windows and along with iPod touch, iPad and iPhone. Developers can also slot in Siri inside their apps but hopefully Apple will work to fix this issue shortly.

The UDID of iPhone needs to be cracked in order to make it work. Be conscious, because Apple can block the UDID any time it wants or if it detects any apprehensive work carried on. The engineering firm has also released a set of tools for developers to start cracking the Siri protocol and stated it is easy to get a UDID with them.

Their post says “The iPhone 4S really sends raw audio data. It’s compressed using the Speex audio codec, which makes sense as it’s a codec specifically tailored for VoIP.The iPhone 4S sends identifiers everywhere. So if you crave to use Siri on another device, you still need the identfier of at least one iPhone 4S. Of course we’re not publishing ours, but it’s very easy to salvage one using the tools we’ve written. Of course Apple could blacklist an identifier, but as long as you’re keeping it for personal use, that should be alright!”

The developers digs out that a lot of information has been used by the Cupertino giant when it communicates with its servers when it comes to Siri:

“The protocol is actually very, very chatty. Your iPhone sends a tons of things to Apple’s servers. And those servers reply an incredible amount of informations. For example, when you’re using text-to-speech, Apple’s server even reply a confidence score and the timestamp of each word.”

Just to remind you few weeks back Siri was integrated to the iPhone 4 and iPod touch. And it has also been connected to Apple’s servers effectively.
