Apple cuts off the ‘Mac’ from OS X Lion
As you get to know that cats are in but on the other side Mac seems to be out. Apple silently cut off Mac name from its latest OS X Mountain Lion (did you noticed it in my last post?) well now Apple is also retroactively changing the Lion branding on its website. Don’t get too much confused or think much about it as it’s just a marketing move and definitely is not going to affect user experience. May be Apple is thinking to make a line in between hardware and software, like from now onwards Mac is hardware and OS X is software clearly and this is simply the end of that. Apple perfectionist will need to download the developer preview of the software to experience the alteration reflected on the OS side of things although that could always change with 10.7.4.
From having a look at the Apple’s banner below placed at World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) last year, we get to know that Apple started referring its latest operating system as “OS X Lion”. You can also have a look below.
