Gmail’s ‘people widget’ gets updated

When it comes to an idyllic tool for minor announcements, Google’s found a room on its very own social network. And now it is ready to publicize a small update to the people widget; the bar currently inhabiting real estate on the right-hand side of gmail.com. With displaying the relevant contact information from an email chain’s participants, the peek widget will now disclose the last three images sent to you by the displayed contacts. As expected, clicking on the pics will bring you to the associated email, and give away some little more context to that candid, landscape or Lolcat you’re staring at. Not the most exciting of additions, we’ll admit, but a little extra functionality never hurts. Right?
