Packard Bell has announced two new models; the 15.6-inch notebook EasyNote TE and EasyNote TV.
In between the two, EasyNote TV is the most premium one with the most contrasting feature the chiclet keyboard of the TV. We gave it a quick tap, and found the action to be rather nice, certainly piquing our interest in the £399 machine.
The finish is rather attractive too, with a “bamboo weave” effect, but before you get too excited, this isn’t constructed from bamboo like the Asus U33, its regular plastic.
You are offered with a 1366 x 768 pixel resolution display along with 15.6-inches screen size which isn’t hugely impressive, however for everyday computing will do the job and fits the price point.
It is incorporated with second-gen Intel Core processors and Nvidia graphics. While we don’t have all the configuration options available, basically you’ll get i3 and i5 models, and GeForce GT620M or 630M GPUs.
Bundling in a little additional joy with the EasyNote TV will be a full copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements.
But the folks who are looking for something more cheaper would be glad to meet the EasyNote TE that bears almost the same specs as EasyNote TV , but you’ll miss out on the chiclet keyboard.
The EasyNote TE, promoted as a “value-proposition” for students and social network users, is powered by an AMD 1.4GHz E1-1200 processor, with a 15.6-inch 1366×768 display and Radeon HD 7310 graphics.
A 750GB hard drive provides storage, while Wi-Fi, one USB 3.0 connection and two USB 2.0 ports provide additional connectivity. An HDMI port, integrated webcam, and a memory card reader round off the hardware specifications. Hotkeys for DVD burning and other main functions are joined by buttons for Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Flickr, in a move to attract social network users.
The Packard Bell EasyNote TE is on sale now for around €400 ($500).
Both models will be available later in July 2012, in a choice of colors and configurations.
